Camps
The ATC runs many week long camps for Air cadets at RAF stations across the country. These usually run during the Easter and Summer holidays and cost around £40, which includes food and board. The camps run activities such as:
Flying, Gliding, Shooting, Leadership Exercises, Section Visits, Sports, Drill Competitions, Hill walks, Quizzes and many more
In addition to this, overseas camps to RAF Gibraltar, RAF Akrotri in Cyprus and Rheindalen and Ramstein in Germany run every year.
MOD Machrihanish
Situated a couple of miles from Campbeltown, MOD Machrihanish is a former RAF base with the second longest runway in europe. For four weeks of the year it is transformed into a hive of Air Cadet activity with modules such as Shooting, Fieldcraft, Communications, RC Flying, First Aid and Leadership, Police Flight and lots more. With about 250 cadets in each week, Machrihanish is one of the best camps in Scotland.
RAF Cranwell
Located near the RAF's officer training college, RAF Cranwell is an ideal location for a cadet camp with loads to offer including section visits, college tours, visits to Lincoln and evening exercises.
Courses
Various courses are on offer for cadets to gain qualifications such as leadership and Communications. Qualifications are often nationally recognised and will most definitely benefit you in later life.
